On February 26, 2025, Takumi International Sdn Bhd showcased Japanese traditional crafts at the Emperor’s Birthday Celebration Reception held at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
This exhibition was made possible through an invitation from the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia.

This prestigious reception brought together Malaysian government officials, ambassadors, distinguished guests, and representatives from industry, government, and academia, providing a rare and valuable opportunity to introduce Japanese culture on an international stage.

Exhibition Concept: Tradition, Modernity, and Cross-Border Fusion

The concept of this exhibition was
“The fusion of Japanese traditional craftsmanship and Malaysian culture.”

Rather than preserving traditional techniques merely as heritage, our aim was to reinterpret craftsmanship that has been passed down for generations across Japan to suit contemporary lifestyles and the needs of overseas markets, elevating it into modern value.
Through this process, another key objective was to discover new customer profiles and uncover potential opportunities in emerging markets.

A Collaborative Exhibition by Three Companies

This reception featured a joint exhibition by the following three companies:

  • Takumi International Sdn Bhd

  • ezu Co., Ltd.

  • you&meDSPH Co., Ltd. (YOU&ME DSPH SDN BHD)

By bringing together each company’s unique worldview and strengths, the exhibition expressed the depth and diversity of Japanese traditional crafts.
All three companies have established sales records in both Japan and international markets and are well positioned to continue proposing and selling their products in Malaysia even after the reception.

Presenting Authentic Japanese Craftsmanship to a High-End Audience

The exhibition featured high-quality, premium products that incorporate traditional Japanese techniques.
The meticulous craftsmanship and the stories behind each piece attracted strong interest from Malaysian attendees as well as distinguished guests from around the world, and we received many warm and encouraging comments.

Looking Ahead

This exhibition reaffirmed the strong potential for Japanese traditional crafts to be appreciated beyond national borders.
Takumi International Sdn Bhd remains committed to sharing Japan’s outstanding craftsmanship and culture with Malaysia and the wider global community, while serving as a bridge for sustainable business growth and cultural exchange.

We appreciate your continued interest in our initiatives.
